Steve was looking and feeling good yesterday. It was the first day since the accident that he wasn't in a hospital gown! Finally, he's in clothes. Whoo hoo. That alone has got to make him feel better! Also, they took the collar off yesterday, largely because he was developing sores beneath it. MaryAnn is really nervous for it to be off, they were told he would wear it for 12 weeks. But the staff must feel that his neck is healed enough for him to be ok without it. I suppose there are just going to be a lot of these scary moments as we adjust to him being out of ICU.
Unfortunately, he did not get to see the building come down, the wrecking ball started on the other side of the building. Maybe in a few days he'll get to catch them tearing down the side facing him. Mare said that he does have a view of the buidling from his room. They did a CT scan to see if the sinus infection he has would be severe enough to cause the fevers. MaryAnn and Joe should have the results of that today.
He's got occupational and physical therapy today. I think this will is scheduled daily for him now. Jim, Courtney and April are coming to visit today. Their company will undoubtably bring on that beautiful smile of his.
