4.23.08 Update: The Halo is OFF!

Wow. MaryAnn and Joe went in this morning to see Steve, and to their surprise--the halo was gone! Steve's really nervous; it's weird and scary to not have that security around him anymore. He does have a neck brace on. And it will take him some time to adjust. But now, at least all of the skin that was under that heavy frame can get air and heal.

Yesterday, Mare and Joe were told that it would probably be about 12 weeks total that Steve would have to have the halo on. But this morning they were told that the doctor felt he was healed enough. Great news! Very exciting! Congrats Steve!
