4.10.08 Surgery went well

The surgery lasted three hours, but it went smoothly! The doctor didn't need to put the stint in after all, he was able to take out his stitches and move the trach down with no problems. He expects for all to heal well. Steve still has a little infection in his lungs, but he will be put on a two week cycle of antibiotics, so that should knock out anything lingering in his system. Pow.

He's not going to be able to visit his chair for the next few days so that he can heal. As I mentioned earlier, April is coming today, so I'm sure she can chat him up and keep him smiling, though they expect that he will be tired.

Mare and I had to cut our call short a few minutes ago because they were wheeling Steve back into his room.

Onward and upward folks. Steve is one mighty man indeed.
